About the position

As a Sales Territory Manager at AAA Cooper Transportation, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and growing existing accounts within your assigned territory, specifically in Odessa/Midland, TX. Your primary focus will be on enhancing productivity and profitability while also managing National Accounts at a local level. This position requires you to act as a liaison between customers and various departments within AAA Cooper, ensuring that customer requirements are effectively communicated and met. You will be responsible for negotiating rates and addressing any issues that may arise, making you a vital point of contact for our clients. In this role, you will set up appointments with both existing accounts and prospective customers, identifying and securing profitable revenue opportunities within your geographic area. You will manage both new and established accounts, striving for continued revenue growth and the achievement of strategic sales objectives. Gathering information from prospective customers will be essential in establishing strong business relationships, and you will need to communicate our commitment to meeting customer requirements clearly and effectively. Additionally, you will assist in negotiating prices and services, representing AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings, and performing various tasks as assigned by the Terminal Manager. This position is integral to the success of our sales team and requires a proactive approach to account management and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Set up appointments for existing accounts and prospective customers.
  • Identify and secure profitable revenue within the assigned geographic area.
  • Manage new and established accounts for continued revenue and profit growth and achievement of strategic sales objective goals.
  • Gather information from prospective customers in order to establish a business relationship.
  • Communicate to Operations and various departments the customer's requirements.
  • Communicate to customer our commitment to meet requirements established by customer.
  • Assist in the negotiation of price and services provided.
  • Represent AAA Cooper Transportation at off-site meetings.
  • Perform various jobs assigned by Terminal Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales or account management, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify and secure profitable revenue opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with less-than-truckload (LTL) and truckload transportation services.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tracking tools.
  • Knowledge of the Odessa/Midland market and customer base.
