About the position

The Sales Underwriting Specialist for Middle Market at Hanover Insurance is responsible for driving production and profitability within the Middle Market department. This role focuses on new business production and managing renewals, ensuring that the underwriting process aligns with the company's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive new business production in the Middle Market segment.
• Manage and underwrite Middle Market renewals effectively.
• Collaborate with sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
• Analyze risk and determine appropriate coverage and pricing for Middle Market accounts.
• Build and maintain relationships with agents and brokers to enhance business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in underwriting, specifically in commercial lines or Middle Market.
• Strong analytical skills to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with agents and internal teams.

• Experience with commercial lines underwriting in a Middle Market environment.
• Knowledge of industry trends and market conditions affecting Middle Market insurance.
