About the position

We are seeking a Sales & Use Tax Accountant to join our team in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role focuses on managing various tax-related tasks, primarily sales and use tax, and involves significant customer interaction. Strong organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Manage and complete sales and use tax filings in a timely manner
• Use Vertex Sales & Use Tax and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate records and perform necessary tasks
• Ensure accurate e-Filing of tax documents
• Handle tax-related inquiries from customers
• Keep track of customer accounts and take necessary actions
• Use experience with sales tax returns and monthly sales tax to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Handle tax matters related to rentals and parking, as well as county-related filings
• Resolve customer inquiries related to sales and use tax
• Keep up-to-date with external filings and ensure all filings are done on time.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a sales and use tax accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in preparing and filing Sales Tax Returns
• Experience in calculating and submitting Monthly Sales Tax
• Comprehensive understanding and application of Sales Tax regulations
• Proficiency in using Vertex Sales & Use Tax software
• Experience in e-Filing and handling External Filings
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including use of advanced functions for financial analysis and reporting.
