About the position

The Sales/Use Tax Senior Manager at Eide Bailly LLP is responsible for leading multi-state sales/use tax engagements, providing consulting services, and developing strategies for tax planning, audit defense, and compliance. This role involves managing client relationships, mentoring junior professionals, and contributing to the firm's thought leadership in sales/use tax matters. The position offers flexibility in work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, or in-office options.

Responsibilities

• Lead sales/use tax engagements and teams.
• Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships.
• Participate in practice growth by identifying and implementing client service opportunities.
• Mentor and develop junior professionals.
• Conduct nexus determinations and taxability analyses.
• Quantify potential liabilities and mitigate exposure.
• Consult on tax processes and controversies, liaising with tax authorities.
• Provide buy and sell side transaction advisory services.
• Conduct refund reviews and recovery studies.
• Monitor sales and use tax developments and issue firm communications.
• Participate in thought leadership activities, including webinars and training sessions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (required); Masters of Taxation, MBA, LLM in Taxation, or JD (preferred).
• 10 or more years of related experience with sales/use taxation (required).
• Valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, sales/use tax certification (CMI), LLM in Taxation, or JD (required).
• Experience with buy and sell side transaction advisory, nexus and taxability, VDAs, and exposure mitigation.
• Experience in sales tax audits and appeals, refund reviews, and monitoring tax trends.
