About the position

The Salesforce Administrator will play a crucial role in enhancing the Salesforce platform for a leading utility provider in New York, NY. This contract position requires a senior-level professional with strong communication skills to collaborate with the IT delivery team, ensuring that the platform meets business requirements and regulatory standards. The role encompasses configuration management, ongoing support, compliance and security, documentation, user training, and continuous learning to keep the system updated and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Customize the Salesforce platform to meet the organization's unique needs
  • Configure fields, objects, flows, and automation rules
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards
  • Assist with data migration and integrity
  • Help address issues or bugs identified post-release and implement enhancements as needed
  • Troubleshoot, answer queries, and provide guidance post-releases
  • Plan for ongoing maintenance of the platform, including updates, patches, and performance monitoring
  • Monitor system automations and integrations
  • Control access to sensitive data through profiles, roles, and permission sets
  • Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure data privacy
  • Collaborate with the company's IT security team to address any regulatory requirements
  • Document system configurations, processes, and customizations
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge base for users and administrators
  • Provide clear documentation for any changes made to the system
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Act as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions
  • Create training modules covering key features and functionalities of Salesforce
  • Develop user guides and documentation to help users navigate and utilize Salesforce effectively
  • Support release documentation for feature enhancements, bug fixes, and changes implemented in each release
  • Analyze user feedback gathered during each release cycle, with recommendations for improvements
  • Plan for iterating on Salesforce configuration based on user feedback and program requirements
  • Keep up-to-date with Salesforce releases, Utility Cloud updates, and industry trends
  • Earn relevant certifications, such as the Salesforce Certified Administrator and any specialized certifications related to Utility Cloud or other Salesforce products.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Salesforce
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM concepts and the Salesforce platform
  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration tasks such as creating fields, objects, page layouts, flows, validation rules, reports, and dashboards
  • Knowledge of user management, including roles, profiles, permissions, and security settings
  • Experience with data management and migration tools like Data Loader, workbench and Import Wizard
  • Ability to create meaningful reports and dashboards that provide insights into utility operations and customer behavior
  • Experience deploying with change sets
  • Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders, gather requirements and generate project artifacts
  • Ability to provide training and support to users in Salesforce
  • Experience managing projects, including upgrades, customizations, and new feature rollouts for Salesforce
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise within Salesforce, providing support and solutions to users
  • Teamwork, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Salesforce Administrator certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with and maintaining Service Cloud and Experience Cloud
  • Familiarity with App Exchange products, including document generation and e-signature tools
  • Experience working with and managing DevOps via Copado
  • Ability to troubleshoot Apex, omniscript and lightning web components
  • Strong understanding of the Energy and Utility Cloud features and how they cater to the needs of utility companies
  • Knowledge of industry-specific workflows, like service order management, field service, and customer engagement specific to utilities
  • Familiarity with utility data models and how utility data (like meter readings, service connections, and outage management) is managed in Salesforce
  • Salesforce Advanced Administrator certification
  • Service Cloud Consultant certification
  • Experience Cloud Consultant certification.
