About the position

The Salesforce Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Windows systems within the company. This role involves overseeing the installation and documentation of Windows Operating Systems, ensuring system availability, and providing complex support for hardware and software issues. The administrator will also conduct system maintenance, manage security protocols, and mentor less experienced team members, all while ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee installation and documentation of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Perform Operational Acceptance Testing and evaluations as part of Service Integration.
  • Provide estimates of work effort and impact of projects and tasks.
  • Review complex designs and configure hardware and services according to design requirements.
  • Monitor systems to ensure platform availability in accordance with SLAs.
  • Provide complex support to ensure monitoring systems are available and set appropriate thresholds and alerts.
  • React and respond to events according to escalation procedures.
  • Provide statistical information to datacentre management for status updates.
  • Act as 3rd line technical support and advise on changes according to change control processes.
  • Administer change control tickets in accordance with Service Management guidelines.
  • Monitor and review system logs, troubleshoot problems, and escalate as needed.
  • Provide issue resolution and record activities using the Service Manager application.
  • Provide on-call support within the 24/7 structure.
  • Conduct system maintenance including patch management and OS upgrades.
  • Monitor backup systems to ensure compliance with practices and procedures.
  • Report and investigate security breaches according to Information Security guidelines.
  • Create and evaluate disaster recovery systems and perform regular testing.
  • Interact with client service representatives and provide technical support to team members.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and provide training.
  • Continuously evaluate systems for potential service improvements using automation technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in system administration or related fields.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining Active Directory, Windows Server, and MS Windows Clustering.
  • Knowledge of enterprise SAN and NAS configurations, MS SCCM, and VMware VCM.
  • Familiarity with Antivirus Software, Application White Listing, and Device Control.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP networking principles.
  • Experience with scripting languages and managing VMware virtualization technologies.
  • MCSE Certification or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Typically 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with VMware View, Pool Management, and Break/Fix support.
  • Knowledge of deploying virtual machines and using technologies like Snapshots and templates.
