About the position

Blue Shield of California is seeking a principal-level Application Developer to join the IT Application Services team. This role involves being the subject matter expert for the Operations portfolio, focusing on real-time streaming claim event processing services and cloud integration. The Salesforce-Principal Developer will lead technical training, enforce standards, and ensure that solutions are secure, performant, and robust, while collaborating with IT, business, and vendor partners to optimize cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of tech design based on Enterprise architecture and solution design.
• Oversee end-to-end solution delivery of small to medium scale projects to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Review and analyze data to predict future needs and devise enhancements.
• Act as the technical lead for successful integration of application systems, projects, and enhancements.
• Instruct, direct, mentor, and monitor the technical work of senior project staff.
• Champion and advocate for the optimization of Salesforce solutions to support growth and financial goals.
• Serve as IT representative in cross-organizational initiatives to drive scale, cost optimization, quality, and end-user experience.
• Establish trusted relationships with business partners and internal IT organizations as the technical owner for major initiatives.
• Lead solution design and development activities on concurrent complex projects with product and cross-portfolio teams.
• Provide technical leadership in establishing a competency center for educating IT professionals on service and cloud-based design and development practices.
• Communicate approach, value, risk, alternatives, and status of goal progress with executive and senior management.
• Promote relevant software development tools, industry protocols, and suggest improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of prior relevant experience.
• Hands-on design, coding, integration, and deployment experience in Salesforce, with a minimum of 3+ years on Vlocity Industry-Cloud applications.
• Experience in Vlocity applications including OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Calculation Procedure, Rate matrices, Integration Procedure, Vlocity Templates, Vlocity Cards, Angular JS, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and LWC.
• Salesforce Custom application development with Integrations is a must.
• Extensive experience in Salesforce configuration and development including Workflows, Process Builder, Apex (classes and triggers), Visual Force page, Lightning Components.
• Experience in Application Integration and applying Vlocity techniques such as Integration Procedures, Apex.
• Strong technical acumen and deep working knowledge of Agile Methods, Service Architecture, and enterprise Cloud Integration.

Nice-to-haves

• End to end Vlocity project implementation experience.
• Salesforce Community implementation experience.
• Experience in Health Insurance, basic and advanced Rate Quote, Health Insurance data model and services.
• Experience with interfaces using cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
• Experience working with Source Controls, GitHub, Jenkins, Azure, AWS, and other CI/CD pipeline utilities in a DevSecOps environment.

• Competitive salary range of $145,200 to $217,800 based on experience and location.
