About the position

As a Salesforce Architect at AbbVie, you will be an integral part of the Business Technology Solutions (BTS) team, contributing to the digital transformation of a leading biopharmaceutical company. Your role will involve defining a sustainable architecture strategy and framework for delivering lean and maintainable solutions on the Salesforce platform. You will oversee the technical roadmap for the Salesforce organization, ensuring that it aligns with the long-range business plan and industry trends. Your leadership will guide other Salesforce Architects and the technical team in solution design, while also educating them on technical best practices within the Salesforce ecosystem. In this position, you will collaborate with Solution Architects to provide expert-level advice and participate in ecosystem solutioning that requires Salesforce involvement. You will set the standards for the Salesforce organization by establishing reference architecture, best practices, and design principles. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining Salesforce-centric architecture deliverables such as system landscapes, platform architecture, integration architecture, module-based design documents, data models, and security architecture. You will produce, review, and approve these deliverables as part of the delivery process. Additionally, you will create technical roadmaps for the Salesforce organization and influence business leaders to sponsor these items, acting as a trusted advisor in designing solutions to business challenges. Staying current with Salesforce releases and functionalities will be crucial, as you will provide guidance on leveraging new capabilities during the solutioning and design phases. You will also identify and address technical debt items in the platform, ensuring timely resolution. Building proof of concepts (POCs) to meet business needs using Salesforce technology will be part of your role as well.

Responsibilities

  • Create technical roadmaps for the Salesforce organization and influence business leaders to sponsor them.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for the business in designing solutions to challenges.
  • Stay updated with Salesforce releases and provide guidance on new capabilities.
  • Identify and address technical debt items in the Salesforce platform.
  • Build proof of concepts (POCs) to meet business needs using Salesforce technology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience; Master's Degree with 7 years of experience; or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in implementing and delivering solutions on the Salesforce platform, including Service Cloud implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with Apex, Triggers, LWC, Flows, Visualforce Pages, and Integration features.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other systems using OOB features and custom-built APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the systems development life cycle and systems application program development.
  • 4+ years of experience executing large scale projects.
  • Experience in business requirements analysis, solution architecture, and solution delivery.
  • Experience with web development in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and JavaScript frameworks.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture principles and Salesforce Well-Architected concepts.
  • Experience implementing scalable and sustainable Salesforce solutions using best architecture principles.
  • 3+ years of managing large scale Salesforce org as principal architect leading a technical team.
  • Exposure to Object Oriented Design and design patterns.
  • Working experience in Agile Delivery frameworks.
