The Salesforce Architect at Harvard Business School (HBS) plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the institution's customer relationship management (CRM) capabilities. This position is designed for an individual who is passionate about integrating technology with higher education and business practices. The architect will be responsible for leading the development of a state-of-the-art CRM architecture that is user-friendly, cost-effective, and strategically aligned with the goals of HBS. This role involves a comprehensive evaluation of the current CRM state, identifying needs within HBS IT, and exploring opportunities for alignment with other Harvard institutions and initiatives, particularly in the context of Digital Transformation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Salesforce architectures, products, and services across various environments, including on-premises, cloud, hybrid, and multi-cloud setups. The Salesforce Architect will oversee multiple Salesforce instances and lead the technical design of large-scale CRM initiatives. Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential, as this role is crucial in ensuring that Salesforce solutions align with business objectives and deliver exceptional value to the organization. In addition to technical expertise, the Salesforce Architect will be responsible for establishing best practices, providing technical oversight, and ensuring the quality and performance of Salesforce solutions. This includes thorough testing, code reviews, and performance tuning. The architect will also communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues, and will act as the highest level of escalation for Salesforce-related issues, offering expert troubleshooting and support. Staying updated with Salesforce advancements and industry trends is vital for recommending and implementing continuous improvements to the Salesforce ecosystem. This position is hybrid, requiring at least three days of on-site work at the Boston campus, with specific hours and days determined by business needs. The role may also require additional support outside of regular hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holiday breaks, as well as participation in a 24/7 rotation for major technical issues.
