About the position

We are looking for a Software Engineer specializing in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) to join our team. In this role, you will partner closely with the Technical Architect and Lead to develop and orchestrate the building of highly scalable and performant applications. As a Software Engineer in this capacity, you will bring strong technical and development skills, facilitating change, driving design excellence, maintaining code quality standards, and striving for continuous improvement. Your influence will extend to the overarching technology choices for the program, and you will act as a guardian of a world-class customer experience. Your responsibilities will include participating in Agile sprints, where you will design, develop, test, and implement changes as defined by business requirements. You will also be tasked with implementing proofs of concept to validate new technologies or integration scenarios, identifying necessary customizations to the SFCC platform to meet client requirements. A key aspect of your role will involve integrating Commerce Cloud with third-party and backend systems, utilizing link cartridges, OCAPI, and custom services while ensuring scalability, performance, and adherence to coding guidelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for diagnosing and solving technical problems during both the implementation and support phases in a timely manner. Collaboration will be a significant part of your role, as you will work with internal SFCC Subject Matter Experts to implement various digital initiatives. You will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies, maximizing the use of existing technologies while leading the discovery and implementation of new features. It is essential to maintain an in-depth knowledge of Salesforce Commerce (SFCC)/Demandware functionality and technology, as well as the Salesforce roadmap and its implications for our company. Keeping abreast of current software development trends and their impact on the organization will also be crucial to your success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal SFCC Subject Matter experts to implement digital initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile sprints to design, develop, test, and implement changes as defined by business requirements.
  • Implement proofs of concept to validate new technologies or integration scenarios.
  • Identify customizations needed for the SFCC platform to meet client requirements.
  • Integrate Commerce Cloud with third-party/backend systems using link cartridges, OCAPI, and custom services.
  • Diagnose and solve technical problems during implementation and support phases in a timely manner.
  • Maximize the use of existing technologies and lead the discovery and implementation of new features.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of SFCC/Demandware functionality and technology, and the Salesforce roadmap.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of SFCC SFRA development experience.
  • Previous experience developing integration updates for a SFCC e-commerce site.
  • Ability to integrate Commerce Cloud with third-party/backend systems while ensuring scalability, performance, and coding guidelines.
  • Prior experience developing content slots and page designer to improve site appearance and flexibility.
  • Experience developing web technologies using JavaScript/JQuery, JSON, AJAX, XML, and Node.js.
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Development principles.
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework or large-scale program management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of secure and accessibility-friendly development practices.
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence and Agile development practices.
