About the position

The Database and Research Manager at Spirit of America plays a crucial role in supporting the organization's fundraising and marketing efforts by ensuring accurate and timely information about donors and prospects. This position involves managing Salesforce systems to enhance fundraising processes and requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of data quality and a passion for the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Design and customize Salesforce solutions to meet organizational needs and improve fundraising and revenue processes.
  • Implement, configure, and manage Salesforce applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and other analytics to provide insights into fundraising opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into Salesforce solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users, ensuring proficiency in Salesforce functionalities.
  • Continuously monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement best practices for data management.
  • Stay updated with Salesforce releases and new features, recommending enhancements to leverage platform capabilities.
  • Manage the Data Processing Associate, providing oversight and setting of priorities, and career and technical development of direct report.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Administrator, Salesforce Advanced Administrator, or Salesforce Developer are highly desirable.
  • Two or more years of research or database management experience preferably with a fundraising or non-profit organization.
  • Experience with Salesforce; Experience with Salesforce Pardot (Account Engagement and Marketing Cloud) is also desired.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, and daily operations within a development office.
  • Ability to manage large scale databases for mass marketing is desirable.
  • Ability to problem solve with a positive, organized, team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Ability to articulate and present clear, persuasive written and verbal communications.
  • A passion for advancing Spirit of America's mission and sharing the organization’s unique model of private support to US missions abroad.
