About the position

The Salesforce Developer (Field Service Management) at Builders FirstSource is responsible for managing, developing, and supporting the Salesforce Field Service platform. This role involves configuring and maintaining Field Service Lightning (FSL) solutions, building custom features, and optimizing the platform to meet business needs. The developer will collaborate with stakeholders to enhance system functionality and ensure smooth operations for users in both field and back office environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day configuration and management of Salesforce Field Service Lightning (FSL).
  • Develop custom features in Salesforce FSL using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Flows.
  • Ensure the Salesforce FSL mobile app is optimized for field users.
  • Provide administrative support to FSL users, resolve issues, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Assist with the integration of Salesforce FSL with other systems such as ERP and inventory management.
  • Develop and maintain process automations using Flows, Process Builder, and workflows.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the FSL system by managing imports, exports, and data clean-up processes.
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics for field service performance.
  • Stay updated with Salesforce releases and new FSL features to recommend and implement enhancements.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, customizations, and processes.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working with Salesforce, including at least 1 year of hands-on experience with Salesforce Field Service Lightning.
  • Experience with Salesforce Security Model, including profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing rules.
  • Experience with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), complex flows, and Visualforce development.
  • Strong understanding of Field Service processes, including scheduling, dispatching, work orders, service resources, and mobile workforce management.
  • Experience configuring automation tools using Flows, Process Builder, and workflows.
  • Experience working with Salesforce Field Service mobile app customization and optimization.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions for both users and system processes.
  • Experience with Salesforce data management including data imports/exports, data cleansing, and reporting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Salesforce Certified Administrator and Salesforce Certified Field Service Lightning Consultant.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce integrations with external systems such as ERP or inventory management.
  • Proven experience architecting FSL solutions.
