About the position

The Salesforce Lead position at the State of Ohio Department of Children and Youth involves overseeing the development and implementation of Salesforce solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of Salesforce best practices. The Salesforce Lead will work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the Salesforce platform aligns with business objectives, while also managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Salesforce solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and team members to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Define system landscape to identify gaps between current and desired end states and deliver a solution.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and team members.
  • Ensure best practices in coding, architecture, and development processes are followed.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay updated on Salesforce releases, features, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Salesforce applications.
  • Document technical processes and system configurations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years as a lead and a total of 10 years of Salesforce experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or tech lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce platform (Service Cloud, Gov Cloud, Public Sector Foundation, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and other Salesforce technologies.
  • Experience with Omni Studio.
  • Experience with integration tools (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica) and APIs.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD (Flosum/Copado, etc.) and version control systems.
  • Understanding of Salesforce's data model and how and when to create custom objects, junction objects, and other model items.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce data tools and ETL tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Architect, Salesforce Developer).
  • Azure DevOps, Agile.
