About the position

The Salesforce Developer will play a crucial role in the Division of Information Technology, which is dedicated to promoting and protecting the health of all New Yorkers through innovative technology and health information. This position involves designing, coding, testing, and implementing new Salesforce solutions, as well as enhancing existing systems. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Salesforce architecture, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components. Collaboration with business stakeholders is essential, as the developer will gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions that effectively meet business needs. In this role, the Salesforce Developer will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of custom Salesforce solutions. The developer will work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Customization and configuration of Salesforce applications will be necessary to meet business needs, which includes creating custom objects, fields, workflows, and validation rules. The developer will also be tasked with developing and maintaining integrations between Salesforce and other systems using APIs and middleware, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Salesforce applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience. Additionally, the Salesforce Developer will create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user guides. Staying up-to-date with Salesforce releases, features, and best practices is crucial, as is implementing improvements as necessary. Participation in code reviews and adherence to best practices for coding, testing, and deployment will also be part of the responsibilities. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Customize and configure Salesforce applications to meet business needs, including creating custom objects, fields, workflows, and validation rules.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other systems using APIs and middleware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, code comments, and user guides.
  • Stay up-to-date with Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in cyber security, network security, computer science, computer programming, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems management, network administration, or a pertinent scientific, technical or related area.
  • At least 3 years of experience performing customizations and configurations on CRM platforms.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing web applications in C# using MVC, XML, and creating and consuming WCF/REST services/WebAPI.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing .NET plugins using C# and writing JavaScript for customizations.
  • At least 3 years of experience with .NET Framework 3.5 or higher and IIS 7.5 or higher.
  • At least 5 years of experience writing complex queries in T-SQL.
  • At least 3 years of experience developing reports using SSRS.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives within timeline.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with City of New York agencies is a plus but not mandatory.
