About the position

The Compliance Specialist at MetroPlusHealth plays a crucial role in ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies within the Sales Department. This position involves auditing, monitoring, and training to maintain compliance across various lines of business, including Marketplace, Medicare, and Managed Long-Term Care (MLTC). The specialist will analyze data, create reports, and collaborate with multiple departments to enhance the effectiveness of sales operations and ensure quality in service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and review of Sales Department policies and procedures for various lines of business.
  • Conduct auditing and monitoring activities, including field observations, to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
  • Administer training for compliance-related matters to Sales personnel.
  • Conduct audits of Sales Department's adherence to policies and procedures, including management oversight and enrollment audits.
  • Create and maintain training curriculum and materials for compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Investigate compliance-related issues and report outcomes regularly.
  • Develop and implement monitoring metrics to assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze monitoring metrics to identify trends requiring corrective actions, including coaching and training.
  • Collaborate with various departments to maintain Sales Department objectives and standards.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and tracking tools for insights into quality and compliance trends.
  • Conduct audits of systems used within the Growth Division for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with NYSOH and CMS rules and guidelines.
  • Support regulatory implementation activities and advise Sales Department leaders on compliance matters.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions regarding regulatory guidelines.
  • Analyze data to identify areas impacting quality within the Growth Division.
  • Maintain accurate records of training and corrective action documents.
  • Critique bonus/incentive programs for compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Synthesize data and produce summary findings reports for executive leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 4 years of Managed Care experience with knowledge of Medicare and state regulations.
  • Prior experience in quality improvement and compliance oversight.
  • 1-3 years of Compliance/Regulatory Affairs experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Excellent business writing skills.
  • Cross-functional interdepartmental skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • CHC or CCEP certification preferred.
  • Experience with managed care and federal/state regulations.
  • High-level skills in leading interdepartmental strategy development.
  • Experience managing professional staff on multiple projects.
