About the position

OuterBox is seeking a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization Strategist to join our team. In this role, you will combine your expertise in marketing automation and website personalization to drive impactful results for our clients. You will take ownership of client relationships, providing strategic guidance to deliver tailored customer experiences. Additionally, you'll collaborate with our team of specialists to support automation needs across various email platforms, ensuring seamless and personalized customer journeys. In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for personalization clients, proactively managing relationships by scheduling and leading client meetings, defining meeting agendas, and fostering open communication. You will develop a deep understanding of client business goals, challenges, and opportunities, primarily within Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization, to recommend and implement effective strategies. Your role will also involve designing and implementing sophisticated workflows that drive personalized customer experiences through complex triggers and various audience creation methods. You will collaborate with the team to ideate on customer lifecycle stages and segmentation strategies, contributing to a comprehensive audience engagement roadmap for clients. Continuous performance monitoring of all active workflows and automations will be essential to ensure quality and effectiveness, along with making optimization recommendations as necessary. Additionally, you will maintain robust data models and attribute definitions to enable scalable audience segmentation and support dynamic content personalization for campaigns and landing pages. Compliance with legal standards and industry best practices will be a priority, ensuring a focus on data privacy and system reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for personalization clients, proactively managing the relationship by scheduling and leading client meetings, defining meeting agendas, and fostering open communication.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client business goals, challenges, and opportunities, primarily within Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization, to recommend and implement effective strategies.
  • Design and implement sophisticated workflows that drive personalized customer experiences through complex triggers and various audience creation methods from Salesforce entry events to querying relational databases with SQL.
  • Collaborate with the team to ideate on customer lifecycle stages and segmentation strategies, contributing to a comprehensive audience engagement roadmap for clients.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of all active workflows and automations to ensure quality and effectiveness, and make optimization recommendations as necessary.
  • Maintain robust data models and attribute definitions, enabling scalable audience segmentation and supporting dynamic content personalization for campaigns and landing pages.
  • Ensure all automated marketing practices comply with legal standards and industry best practices, maintaining a focus on data privacy and system reliability.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization (Interaction Studio) or Evergage preferred. Demonstration of exemplary performance may supersede experience requirement.
  • Deep understanding of website and email segmentation and personalization.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Proficient understanding of email and web analytics within email platforms and Google Analytics.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal, as well as visually through diagrams and concepts).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) and AMPscript strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HTML / CSS to support email builds.
  • Additional experience in other Email Service Platforms (ESP) such as Klaviyo, HubSpot, etc.
  • Knowledgeable about cross inbox & cross device compatibility.
  • Understanding of email authentication protocols.
