About the position

The Salesforce Platform Developer at Harvard University is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions within the Salesforce ecosystem. This role involves hands-on development using Salesforce's out-of-the-box platforms, collaborating with various stakeholders, and participating in Agile development practices. The developer will work closely with the Platform Solutions team to deliver end-to-end solutions that meet business requirements and ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop end-to-end solutions in Salesforce, including CRM lightning experience configuration and customization.
  • Practice standard SFDX source-driven development and CI/CD deployment pipeline using DevOps tools.
  • Develop unit tests in Apex to ensure code coverage and collaborate with QA engineers for automation testing.
  • Integrate Salesforce with on-prem and external systems using REST APIs and ETL processes.
  • Participate in Agile development practices including user story development and sprint planning.
  • Document development processes and communicate with Salesforce admins for support issues.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve software and system issues, performing root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience or post-secondary education.
  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Certified Salesforce Platform Developer credential.
  • Expertise in Salesforce development frameworks including OmniStudio, Apex, and Lightning Web Components.
  • Experience in configuring Salesforce Community Sites and web development languages like HTML and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps tools such as Gearset and source control platforms like Bitbucket or Github.
  • Working knowledge of Web Service Integration using SOAP, REST, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Salesforce Lightning Experience environments.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD deployment practices.
  • Experience in developing test cases for QA automation.
