About the position

The Salesforce Platform Technical Architect at BankUnited will play a pivotal role in supporting the full implementation lifecycle of Salesforce solutions tailored for the banking sector. This position requires a deep understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem, particularly the Financial Services Cloud, and experience with nCino applications/products. The architect will be responsible for designing comprehensive and scalable solutions that align with industry best practices and regulatory compliance. This includes collaborating with various stakeholders to gather business requirements, prototyping new solutions, and configuring systems to meet the specific needs of the bank's lines of business. In addition to system design and configuration, the Technical Architect will establish and enforce architectural principles, standards, and guidelines for Salesforce and nCino implementations. This role involves ensuring security, data governance, and scalability requirements are met while providing guidance to development teams. The architect will also be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of the Salesforce and nCino architecture, ensuring that all functional specifications, technical designs, data models, and integration workflows are accurate and accessible. The Technical Architect will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team. Staying updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the banking and financial services domain is crucial, as this knowledge will drive innovation and improvements to the Salesforce ecosystem. The architect will lead functional and technical workshops, manage user expectations, and negotiate solutions to complex problems, serving as a trusted advisor to the Salesforce Platform team and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements, objectives, and processes related to the banking domain.
  • Design comprehensive and scalable solutions for the Salesforce ecosystem that align with industry best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Prototype new solutions in lower environments to showcase new functionality.
  • Utilize expertise in Salesforce and nCino capabilities to configure and customize the systems for the bank's line of business.
  • Configure objects, workflows, reports, and dashboards to optimize processes and enhance user experience.
  • Establish and enforce architectural principles, standards, and guidelines for Salesforce and nCino implementations.
  • Consider security, data governance, and scalability requirements, providing guidance to development teams and ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Product Analysts, Delivery Team, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Conduct regular meetings and presentations to communicate design, progress, and risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the Salesforce and nCino architecture, including functional specifications, technical designs, data models, and integration workflows.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development/administrative teams, ensuring successful delivery of Salesforce and nCino solutions.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the banking and financial services domain.
  • Lead functional and technical workshops, demonstrating leadership skills in designing, delivering, testing, and deploying solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Salesforce Platform team, driving conversations with Enterprise Architects and business stakeholders to shape the architectural vision and establish a program architectural roadmap.
  • Manage user expectations and negotiate solutions to complex problems with both users and third-party stakeholders.
  • Guide IT partners and the Salesforce implementation team on executing digital transformation using Salesforce platform products.
  • Establish trust with business leaders, promoting and implementing standard processes via Salesforce.
  • Develop sophisticated business processes using native Salesforce Industries technology and integration tools.
  • Proactively highlight and manage risk areas in solutions, committing to see issues through to completion.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline; additional ten (10) years of related professional experience can be substituted for a BS/BA degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in developing technology solutions.
  • Experience with Domains - Banking and Financial Services.
  • Experience with Integration Architecture required.
  • Experience with Platform Security required.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management/Integration Security.
  • Experience with Sharing and Visibility required.
  • Experience with Data Architecture and Management required.
  • Experience with Architectural Design Patterns.
  • Experience with Apex Design Patterns required.
  • Experience with Salesforce/Apex, Triggers, Lightning Flows, Lightning, LWC, and experience with modern web and mobile technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Components, others) required.
  • Experience with OmniStudio Developer/Consultant.

Nice-to-haves

  • Salesforce Certification preferred (Admin, Developer, Sales, and Service Clouds, Application Architect).
  • Expertise in one or multiple of - Salesforce Financial Services Cloud (FSC), Sales/Service/Experience/Marketing Cloud, and OmniStudio.
  • Product knowledge and experience - Data Cloud, Marketing Cloud, nCino -- LOS and Treasury Services and Financial Services Cloud (FSC).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in banking and financial services.
  • Expertise in User Journey preparations, User Story reviews, Data Modeling, Apex Design Patterns, and other modern UI techniques.
