About the position

The Solution Architect Lead at Ascend Technologies is responsible for coaching and developing the Salesforce delivery team while designing and delivering Salesforce implementations. This role supports the Director of Delivery & Operations in leading the Salesforce practice and involves delivering consulting efforts to customers, translating complex problems into understandable solutions, and ensuring high-quality outcomes in Salesforce and related cloud technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the Salesforce platform and stay updated on new products.
  • Disseminate expertise throughout the technical delivery and sales teams.
  • Conduct research on systems beyond Salesforce and advise on overall business needs.
  • Partner with the Director of Delivery & Operations in technical interviews to grow the Salesforce delivery team.
  • Build training and professional development programs for the Salesforce delivery team.
  • Monitor job performance and provide coaching to maximize employee contributions.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of service offerings and pricing tools.
  • Track departmental KPIs including utilization, revenue, and gross profit.
  • Provide presales support by defining technical requirements and scoping projects.
  • Assess business processes and suggest improvements using Salesforce features.
  • Develop and execute project plans to meet customer objectives within timelines and budgets.
  • Document user stories and advise on trends affecting business success.
  • Design customized solutions leveraging Salesforce and other toolsets.
  • Demo completed work, obtain feedback, and adjust as necessary.
  • Validate development and configuration work to ensure it meets project criteria.
  • Prepare presentations and facilitate meetings as needed.
  • Manage a development team throughout project execution, providing oversight and leadership.
  • Build and nurture long-term customer relationships and lead client escalations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to align project delivery with customer goals.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience overseeing technical direction and implementation of Salesforce solutions.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience.
  • Certifications: Admin, Sales/Service Cloud, Platform App Builder or Platform Developer 1.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript).
  • Strong experience with Salesforce configuration, customization, and programming (APEX Classes, APEX Triggers, Process Builder, Flows, Lightning components).
  • Salesforce integration experience with different business systems and integration tools.
  • Commitment to understanding evolving Salesforce and related technologies.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High proficiency in business analysis, negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional Salesforce certifications.
  • Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a technical team.
