About the position

The Salesforce Solution Architect will partner with product owners and business owners to translate requirements into a design or blueprint that can be utilized by technical and integration architects, as well as developers. This role is crucial in balancing various aspects of a project or a continuous improvement backlog, from the initial idea to the final design. The Solution Architect will also be responsible for researching advanced technologies and approaches, ensuring best practices are followed in the field. A significant part of this role involves supporting the implementation of a new Salesforce CPQ and redesigning existing Sales Cloud capabilities. Leveraging your expertise in Salesforce Sales Cloud, CPQ/Revenue Cloud, and its integrated systems, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and design solutions that prioritize simplicity and scalability. In this position, you will serve as a Salesforce Sales/CPQ subject matter expert, collaborating with stakeholders to architect platform designs, present options, and assist in building comprehensive solutions that meet business needs. You will drive design choices ahead of product builds, provide overall guidance to propose solutions, and advocate for native, out-of-the-box capabilities while ensuring consistency with Enterprise Architecture guidelines. Your responsibilities will also include documenting design decisions, participating in sprint planning sessions, writing and maintaining user stories, and providing expertise to application development teams to resolve technical challenges. Additionally, you will analyze current technologies used within the company and identify ways to improve them, document and monitor requirements for updates and upgrades, and work closely with infrastructure and cybersecurity professionals to account for dependencies in projects. The role requires close collaboration with product owners to guide backlog prioritization and slotting, as well as project management teams to monitor the progress of initiatives. You will be responsible for providing detailed specifications for proposed solutions, defining clear goals for all project aspects, and managing their execution effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders as a Salesforce Sales/CPQ subject matter expert, architect platform designs, present options, and help to build full solutions to meet business needs.
  • Drive design choices ahead of the product builds.
  • Provide overall guidance to propose solutions, anticipate new releases, keep current with latest features and functions, advocate for native, out of the box capabilities.
  • Guarantee consistency with the Enterprise Architecture guidelines, document design decisions, process and flows for the development team.
  • Participate in sprint planning sessions to anticipate design work or issues, and in Agile daily standup to help resolve blockers and make technical decisions.
  • Write and maintain user stories for technical architecture, data migrations, and data flows.
  • Provide expertise to application development teams to help to resolve technical challenges.
  • Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve.
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to implement updates/upgrades.
  • Work closely with infrastructure and cybersecurity professionals within the company to ensure dependencies are accounted for in projects.
  • Work closely with product owners to guide backlog slotting and prioritization.
  • Account for possible project challenges including risks, time, resources, and scope.
  • Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives.
  • Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.
  • Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and manage their proper execution.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in architecting, developing, and delivering Salesforce platform capabilities with deep expertise in Salesforce Sales and CPA/Revenue Cloud.
  • Prior experience (3+ years) as a Salesforce functional consultant required.
  • Must hold at least one Salesforce certification. Multiple certifications preferred.
  • Experience orchestrating Salesforce Sales and Service + Community use cases involving multiple data sources and sophisticated business workflow/flow logic linking process, system, data insights and UI/UX layers.
  • Experience with an integrated Salesforce CRM, CPQ, ERP and Data Lakes ecosystem.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.
  • Professional experience working with and analyzing process, system, and data gaps.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working with the Salesforce.com platform.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with an Oracle EBS or Cloud ERP backend, and Snowflake/Power BI a plus.
  • Demonstrated configuration and solutioning experience with Opportunity guided and solution selling methods, product master and pricing setup, Case Management setup.
  • Opportunity/Quote/Order management integration and flow, and Opportunity/Quote/Forecasting integration and flow.
  • Proven experience identifying and uncovering the unstated business problem and need and providing innovative solutions that successfully realize business performance targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze a backlog holistically, interpret the larger, unstated need, and implement an optimized, stable, and flexible solution that solves more than 1 request.
  • Project management and leadership skills are essential.
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding Salesforce system security measures.
  • Experience in process and software engineering and design architecture.
