About the position

The Salesforce Solutions Manager will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing Food & Water Watch/Food & Water Action's (FWW/FWA) Salesforce environment. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to develop and maintain custom solutions, manage data integrations, and oversee third-party applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and modern information security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Create and maintain triggers, workflows, and process builder flows.
  • Supervise the Data Analyst and grow reporting capabilities.
  • Manage integrating Salesforce with other systems (both internal and external).
  • Plan and execute data migrations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Maintain functional areas of data management, including accounts, contacts, leads, campaigns, donations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Monitor and optimize data flows between Salesforce and connected applications.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain third-party applications that enhance Salesforce functionality.
  • Collaborate with vendors and manage app installations, upgrades, and licenses.
  • Develop and implement database marketing strategies and campaigns to increase customer engagement and retention.
  • Create and maintain customer databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and security.
  • Analyze member data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform marketing initiatives.
  • Segment members based on demographics, behavior, and donating patterns to optimize targeting and messaging.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and tactics.
  • Maintain and develop documentation according to system setups, business policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Salesforce features and functionality.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams that address strategic organizational issues involving Nonprofit Success Pack (NPSP) and integrated applications.

Requirements

  • Experience with NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) configuration and best practices required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer.
  • Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning, and other Salesforce technologies.
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Platform Developer I, Administrator) preferred.
  • Commitment to Food & Water Watch's core values of justice, human dignity, fair treatment, and equity.
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse racial, ethnic, class, age, gender, and sexual orientation backgrounds.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management & organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects.
  • Ability to work remotely using basic online programs, including email, Slack, and Google docs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, integration patterns, and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Experience with SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices and functionality preferred.
  • Strong understanding of NIST CSF and ISO 27001.
  • Engaging networks knowledge is a plus.
