About the position

The Sr. Product UX Designer at TEKsystems is responsible for creating intuitive and elegant product design solutions that address complex consumer and business needs. This role involves leading the design for large and complex products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and utilizing user research to inform design decisions. The designer will create visual artifacts, mentor junior team members, and advocate for high standards in user experience, all while staying current with industry trends and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Create intuitive and elegant product design solutions that solve complex consumer problems and drive business results
• Communicate solutions to stakeholders and executives in a manner that simplifies complexity and generates excitement
• Participate in user experience research to understand consumer needs, opportunities and pain points
• Collect and synthesize qualitative and quantitative research to inform and validate design decisions
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts and Developers throughout the design process
• Create visual artifacts such as prototypes, wireframes, sketches, journey maps, and personas
• Create detailed design deliverables utilizing the design language system and pattern library
• Stay current on tools, principles, and practices in product design and drive for continuous improvement
• Facilitate organized and productive meetings and brainstorming sessions
• Mentor and train junior members of the design team on industry best practices
• Advocate for high standards of excellence in user experiences

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience
• Proven track record of designing high-quality consumer products in collaboration with product management and engineering
• Strong understanding of user-centered design processes
• Experience with user research and the ability to articulate design decisions
• Strong critical thinking and analysis skills
• Experience with Agile development processes
• Ability to mentor and train others in design methodologies

Nice-to-haves

• Experience designing and prototyping native app and web solutions for various screen sizes
• Responsive/adaptive design experience
• E-commerce experience
