About the position

At American Express, we are seeking a Director level Staff Architect to join our Enterprise Salesforce team, which was established in 2015 as part of our Framework for Winning. This role is pivotal in leading a small team of high-performing engineers and solution architects, focusing on the implementation of architectural strategies for Salesforce adoption across the company. You will work closely with Delivery teams, stakeholders, and Enterprise Architects to establish standards and enforce best practices. Your contributions will be essential in creating solutions on the Salesforce platform, leveraging Data, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to enhance our selling and re-selling engines for over 20,000 Sales, CRM, and Marketing professionals across the enterprise. In this position, you will spend approximately 25% of your time on hands-on technical projects, applying your analytical skills to recommend solutions based on research and introspection. You will design and manage solutions that provide frameworks, interfaces, and services that can be extended and reused across the portfolio. Ensuring that the architecture aligns with enterprise architecture standards and guidelines is crucial, as is collaborating with engineering teams to ensure implementations are consistent with the Technical Platform's Blueprint specifications. Your role will also involve contributing to technology direction, developing architecture, and influencing implementation to achieve measurable business improvements. You will frequently collaborate with leadership and engineers from other functional teams to align and utilize solutions effectively. Your specialized knowledge of industry standards will be applied to assigned initiatives, and you will be responsible for identifying complex problems and formulating recommendations. Engaging with business partners to understand their objectives and helping them navigate the technical landscape will be key to extending business product innovation through the adoption and implementation of new technologies.
