About the position
Hamilton Machine Company, a local machine shop and weld shop located in Lebanon, TN, is seeking a qualified salesperson to join our team. This is not an entry-level position; candidates must have previous experience in a machine shop or weld shop environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, particularly in the manufacturing or machining sectors. As a salesperson, you will be responsible for quoting machine work and weld jobs, acting as the liaison between our customers and the company. Your role will involve establishing new customer relationships while maintaining contact with existing clients. You will be tasked with selling our services and providing detailed quotes for the work and materials required for each job. In this position, you will be required to travel to meet with customers, so a valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential. You will be supplied with a company truck for this purpose. The ability to work independently is crucial, as you will not always have direct supervision. Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary to effectively relay job details to our staff, including the Foreman, Operations Manager, and workers. Proficiency in using a computer and checking emails is also required. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., with the expectation of being on call as needed.
