About the position

The Salon Business Consultant is a sales solution specialist role, covering and growing a territory in and around West Palm Beach, including Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, and Jupiter Florida. The Consultant is responsible for an assigned territory of customers, focusing on helping grow their salons' overall sales. This role involves meeting and achieving assigned sales goals by utilizing manufacturer education and sales resources, expanding sales through opening new doors, and selling approved beauty products while introducing new products and concepts. The Consultant will actively use all forms of social media as an additional outlet to serve salons, barbers, spas, schools, and any licensed beauty professional.

Responsibilities

  • Identify key accounts within territory and establish an efficient route to grow and develop existing customers while looking for new partnerships.
  • Demonstrate and assist customers in developing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and tracking results of all in-salon promotions, programs, and concepts.
  • Determine customers’ needs and offer products and services to meet those needs.
  • Communicate all sales initiatives through partnering with vendors to achieve corporate sales goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Acknowledge and respond to all email, text, and phone communication in a timely manner (24 Hours).
  • Analyze accounts to decide what brand support, education, and promotions are needed to grow within that salon.
  • Call on customers in person to execute established sales goals.
  • Comply with established procedures regarding the processing of returns, including the pick-up of returns from the customer.
  • Timely completion of assignments and projects that may be assigned.
  • Work with all areas of business, including customer service, accounts receivable, IT, and any other necessary business function.
  • Actively prospect for new customers through cold calling, social media, and other digital outlets.
  • Effectively manage all administrative aspects of the role, including daily order entry and regular maintenance of customer information and activity in salesforce.com.
  • Attract and retain salon clientele by utilizing social media for communication, promotion, education, and product knowledge.
  • Conduct effective in-person and virtual product knowledge classes.
  • Communicate with the Manager regarding calls, visits, orders, status of sales progress, follow-up plans, and any assistance needed.
  • Be a subject matter expert on utilizing digital platforms & social media to grow the business and share knowledge with peers.
  • Attend all meetings, functions, and events and maintain regular contact as established by the Company or Supervisor.
  • Support all new initiatives with a growth mindset while fostering change management throughout the team.
  • Exhibit a desire to learn and grow, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Schedule and attend business development days (BDD) to increase product knowledge and develop professional vendor relationships.
  • Remain agile to changes in the market while building industry knowledge and intuition.
  • Create an organized work environment and workflow to efficiently service customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year demonstrated outside sales experience or beauty industry experience with emphasis on consultative selling.
  • Must live within the assigned territory.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems and visual merchandising is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
  • Excellent computer skills, knowledge of salesforce.com, Outlook, PDF Expert, and Oracle.
  • Ability to build an online community and create social connections using search engines and other internet tools.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Strong time management and organization skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with iPad is a plus.
  • Ability to present a professional business image and interact positively with the public.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
