About the position

The Salvage Claims Examiner at Hertz is responsible for managing all pending salvage vehicles within the ServiceNow system. This role involves reviewing claims, ensuring timely processing of releases, and maintaining accurate records. The examiner will handle various complexities related to claims, including liability issues, and will work closely with other departments to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer all pending salvage vehicles entered in the ServiceNow system.
• Review incoming salvage documents for completeness and legibility.
• Update the ServiceNow system with pertinent notes and status of vehicle releases.
• Refer liability cases to the liability office for review and approval.
• Review legal holds to ensure timely and accurate processing of releases.
• Handle salvage calls from customers, insurers, or Hertz locations.
• Initiate the billing process once auction sales are completed.
• Conduct audits on closed salvage files for further pursuit opportunities.
• Meet quality standards and comply with state-specific regulations.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Claims Management or Accounts Receivable experience.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry relating to auto damage claim recovery preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Auto Damage Appraisal experience is a plus but not required.
• Superior independent decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Strong task management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
