About the position

The Salvage Processor at Goodwill Industries is responsible for processing salvage materials at outlet locations. This role involves sorting, moving, and disposing of materials that are recycled from stores and sold to salvage vendors. The position emphasizes adherence to safety standards and the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and grades salvage materials by separating into quality levels (Outlet or Salvage).
• Rotates salvage tables into and out of the outlet sales floor.
• Moves salvage materials to various stations of the salvage process.
• Manually places salvage materials into various machines of the salvage process.
• Assists with operating tippers, compactors, and balers during the salvage process.
• Adheres to all Goodwill safety requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of the processing area and facility.
• Maintains necessary record keeping pertaining to daily activities and reports.
• Provides customer service while projecting a positive image during public contact.
• Attends meetings and training sessions as required.
• Ensures compliance with Goodwill policies, CARF standards, and safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge of safety standards including proper lifting techniques.
• Ability to perform repetitive and routine tasks.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management.
• Proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.
