The Salvage Trimmer Labor position at Tyson Foods involves salvaging parts from birds that are either machine damaged or infected with Interclavicular Airsacculitis. Responsibilities
- Salvage birds with machine damaged parts or infected with Air Sac according to USDA specifications.
- Hang birds by a wing on the reprocessing line for processing.
- Use knives to salvage good parts from damaged birds.
- Pack salvaged parts in tubs with ice and label them appropriately.
- Condemn damaged parts as per company policy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- Must have at least 3 months of seniority at Tyson Foods.
- Ability to stand and walk for 10 hours.
- Experience using knives safely and effectively.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in a food processing environment.
- Knowledge of USDA specifications for poultry processing.
