About the position
The Sample Control Technician role at Actalent involves managing the receipt and processing of samples in a laboratory environment. This entry-level position focuses on sample handling, organization, and compliance with standard operating procedures, ensuring that samples are properly logged, labeled, and prepared for analysis.
Responsibilities
- Receive samples and unpack coolers.
- Label containers and scan shipping documentation.
- Assist Analytical Services Managers with Sample Group setup and Bottle Orders.
- Produce bottle kits and add preservatives to containers.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties.
- Organize walk-in refrigerators and manage sample disposal queue.
- Clean laboratory equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage subcontracted work to outside labs.
- Take warehouse inventory and assist in receiving and stocking inventory.
- Prepare and send out bottle order kits.
- Pour bottled water samples into appropriate bottles for analysis.
- Collect and pack subcontract bottles for analysis at other labs.
- Cross-train in login and shipping roles as backup.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Document control experience.
