About The Position

The Sample Technician position at Florida Canyon Mining, Inc. involves the collection, logging, and delivery of blast hole samples from an active open pit mining area to the assay lab for analysis. The role requires adherence to safety and compliance standards while working under the supervision of a Geologist.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in an open pit mining environment is preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions on uneven terrain is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Effective communication skills are required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of the position is required.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply pit inspection procedures and techniques, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
• Maintain housekeeping in the assigned work area and of assigned equipment.
• Complete assigned work safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with company policies and MSHA standards, both with and without direct supervision.
• Collect and log samples of blast holes from drill cuttings and deliver them to the assay lab.
• Support mine surveyors as needed.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
