About the position

The Product Safety & Claims Manager at Samsung Electronics America is responsible for managing product safety concerns and customer care for product liability claims. This role involves risk and claims management, performance measurement, and strategic communication to enhance business competitiveness. The manager will also engage in activities to prevent product liability, coordinate with legal and insurance entities, and ensure effective resolution of claims.

Responsibilities

• Manage Samsung Electronics America product safety concerns and customer care for product liability claims.
• Engage in activities to prevent product liability and manage claims along with KPIs.
• Attend on-site inspections and lab exams to identify critical product liability risks.
• Provide technical support and coordinate with insurance companies and third-party law firms.
• Register product liability claims in the system and follow up until case closure.
• Diagnose product defects and root causes of incidents related to product liability.
• Contact customers for interviews or follow-up claims for customer care.
• Process customer care resolutions such as exchanges or refunds.
• Sensing risks preemptively and reporting them for risk management.
• Attend depositions as needed and work on issues impacting business success.

Requirements

• Minimum 6+ years of related experience and a bachelor's degree.
• Technical education or product engineering or troubleshooting experience.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong understanding of Home Appliance and Display products.
• Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and find resolutions to application-based issues.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across divisions and language barriers.
• Experience working with product engineers and offshore resources in different time zones.
• Ability to perform evening conference calls with headquarters in Korea.
• Willingness to travel within the US and overseas for business purposes.
