About the position

The Product Safety & Claims Manager at Samsung Electronics America is responsible for managing product safety concerns and customer care for product liability claims. This role involves risk and claims management, performance measurement, and strategic communication to support top management. The manager will work closely with various stakeholders to prevent product liability issues and ensure effective resolution of claims, thereby defending the Samsung brand and enhancing business competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Manage product liability claims and provide customer care for product safety concerns.
  • Engage in activities to prevent product liability and manage claims effectively.
  • Attend on-site inspections and lab exams to identify product liability risks.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies and third-party law firms regarding claims.
  • Register product liability claims in the system and follow up until resolution.
  • Diagnose product defects and identify root causes of incidents related to product liability.
  • Conduct interviews with customers for follow-up claims and care resolutions.
  • Synthesize risk factors from product inspections to inform prevention strategies.
  • Work cross-functionally with headquarters teams in Korea and laboratory staff to address product liability issues.
  • Manage insurance claims, including tender and subrogation claims, and escalate issues as necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of related experience and a bachelor's degree.
  • Technical education or experience in product engineering or troubleshooting.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of home appliance and display products.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application-based issues.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across divisions and language barriers.
  • Experience working with product engineers and offshore resources in different time zones is a plus.
  • Ability to perform evening conference calls with headquarters in Korea.
  • Willingness to travel within the US and overseas for business purposes as needed.
  • Experience in claims adjusting or management is preferable.
