About the position
The Sanford Student Nurse Internship Program is designed to provide nursing students with a comprehensive learning experience that enhances their clinical skills and prepares them for a licensed role after graduation. Interns will be mentored by licensed professionals and will engage in direct and indirect patient care across various healthcare settings, gaining valuable insights into the nursing profession.
Responsibilities
- Participate in a learning experience to develop clinical skills.
- Care for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Perform tasks of direct and indirect patient care.
- Support the activities of the department.
- Utilize appropriate population-specific patient care protocols and policies.
- Communicate and support patients effectively.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an accredited RN program (associate or bachelor degree).
- Must have participated in an academic clinical experience.
- Must be enrolled in a board of licensed clinical practice approved internship course (not applicable for internships in South Dakota).
