The Sanitation Graveyard position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in various areas of the facility during the graveyard shift. The role requires the employee to follow a cleaning schedule efficiently, ensuring that all tasks are completed to meet the expected minimum standards. The janitor will work with minimal supervision, demonstrating the ability to manage time and tasks effectively. Key responsibilities include picking up fruit from the floors in designated areas such as under stemmers, line 8, dryer areas, parabolic screen areas, and the waste room. The employee will also be tasked with cleaning the Elbiscan room, which involves shoveling fruit off the floor into pans or the waste chute and washing the floor afterward. Additionally, the janitor will need to address any plug-ups on the various lines, empty trash cans into bins, and clean equipment and work areas at the end of production to ensure compliance with Sun-Maid and USDA cleanliness standards. Proper operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment are essential, and the employee must use cleaning supplies according to the manufacturer's instructions. Other duties may be assigned as needed, requiring flexibility and adaptability in the role. The working conditions necessitate wearing safety gear, including eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, and a wet suit, as the work environment is often wet and exposed to outside elements.
