About the position

The Food Sanitation Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in food production departments at Dierbergs Markets. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for food handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of cleaning functions in the Bakery, Deli, Seafood, Meat, Salad Bar, and Produce Departments.
• Conduct heavy-duty cleaning of walls, floors, ceilings, coolers, drains, equipment, and cases in all perishable departments after product removal.
• Operate commercial power equipment such as floor scrubbers, steamers, power washers, scrubbers, buffers, and trash compactors.
• Carry out daily cleaning as well as weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual deep-cleaning requirements.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn and use cleaning chemicals, including understanding basic information such as chemical names and product labels.
• Ability to navigate and move ladders frequently over extended periods of time.
• Ability to work independently and adhere to a varied schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Prompt and regular attendance based on your schedule.
• Adherence to dress code, appearance, and personal hygiene standards.
• Associates in food handling departments are required to receive a Hepatitis A vaccination (MO only).
