About the position

The RTS Sanitation Laborer plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the physical plant and equipment at Riviana Foods. This full-time position involves following established sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic environment, particularly in a high-speed manufacturing operation. The role requires operating a sit-down forklift for trash removal and assisting in the regular sanitation of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow the Daily and Master Sanitation Schedule.
• Clean walls, floors, overhead pipes, and drains within RTS per Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) using established procedures.
• Maintain cleaning records indicating frequency, duration, temperature, concentration, and use of final sanitizing product.
• Clean all areas in the RTS plant exposed to human contact to avoid cross-contamination.
• Help clean, remove, and empty all trash containers in the RTS plant.
• Clean rice spills and any other waste from the line, following approved methods.
• Report any condition or behavior that could potentially contaminate the plant, equipment, and product to Management.
• Coordinate cleaning with Maintenance & Production as required after an intervention to production machinery.
• Monitor pest control devices to ensure they are functional and report deficiencies to Management.
• Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training.
• Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and PPE.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a high-speed manufacturing operation.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of sit-down forklift experience.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to lift, push, or pull weights of up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in food manufacturing within a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledgeable on the safe usage of high-pressure washing and chemicals used for foaming and sanitizing.
