About the position

The Sanitation Technician position at Eden Green involves hands-on work in a hydroponic greenhouse, focusing on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation to ensure the production of safe, high-quality produce. This role is essential for preventing cross-contamination and supporting food safety practices within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-operation and post-operation task lists to mitigate any cross contamination between production shifts.
• Conduct regular cleaning and sanitation of all greenhouse areas, including production spaces, equipment, and common areas.
• Use and maintain sanitation equipment and supplies effectively, ensuring they are stored properly after each use.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, hand wash station supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed, notifying management of any shortages or issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to identify areas requiring special attention and develop a cleaning schedule.
• Participate in training sessions on sanitation best practices, safety procedures, and the use of PPE.
• Work directly with the Food Safety Director in preventing Foodborne illnesses.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a sanitation role, preferably in a food production setting, is advantageous but not required.
• Ability to follow strict sanitation standards and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks requiring continuous standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Starting Pay: $14.00
• Compensation is negotiable based on relevant experience or education
