About the position

The Sanitation Laborer position at General Mills in Milwaukee, WI, involves supporting production packaging and processing operations through sanitation tasks. Responsibilities

• Train and supervise Temporary Employee Sanitation helpers and provide performance feedback.
• Manage cleaning services and maintain cleanliness inside and outside the building.
• Clean mirrors, sinks, toilets, and floors in bathrooms.
• Empty garbage and refill toilet paper and paper towels.
• Clean tables, microwaves, ashtrays, and floors in the lunchroom.
• Maintain cleanliness in picnic and smoking areas, truck docks, parking lots, and compactor areas.
• Ensure fire extinguishers are in place and complete Master Sanitation tasks as scheduled.
• Manage inventory and restock cleaning chemicals and general cleaning supplies.
• Build relationships with temporary service cleaning staff, maintenance, processing teams, and office coordinators.
• Attend monthly safety meetings and adhere to safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret short instructions and safety rules.
• Basic mathematical skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
