About the position

The SAP ABAP / Java Developer at Cardinal Health is responsible for the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This role involves configuration or coding to develop, enhance, and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment, adhering to established design control processes and good engineering practices. The developer will program and configure end-user applications, systems, databases, and websites to meet both internal and external business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces including SAP ABAP and other languages e.g., Java, JavaScript, MySQL.
  • Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers, and integration technologies.
  • Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
  • Understands the value of and is prepared to implement comprehensive unit testing patterns.
  • Works on fast-paced Agile teams.
  • Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including production outages.
  • Interfacing with SAP and Non-SAP systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related fields preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 1 - 3 years of technical expertise in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of SAP programs, user exits, SAP APIs, ODM Rules Projects.
  • Experience in developing software in SAP NetWeaver ABAP Stack environments.
  • Knowledge of ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports, ABAP online transactions, Web Dynpro Interface/dialog programming, BAPI, ALE and IDOC User Exits, BADIs, and Batch Programming.
  • Experience with SAP BRF+, SAP DSM, and Business rules service on SAP BTP.
  • Knowledge in IBM ODM 8.9.x and above version, Core Java, Web Services, JSON, and in setting up decision center.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate at different levels of management.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in Design and Development of Decision Table, Decision Tree, Action Rule(BRL), Technical Rule, Rule Flows, BOM and XOM, Synthetic Class, Function Task, Rule Task in JRules / WODM / ODM.
  • Exposure in Deployment of Rule App and Rule Sets in Rule Execution server.
  • Experience in setting up of Decision center for business.
  • Exposure to SOA.
