About the position

The SAP Ariba Programmer role is an 8-month contract position focused on the development, integration, and stabilization of the SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing modules for a major midwestern university. The programmer will ensure seamless integration with existing enterprise systems, particularly the financial system, and will play a crucial role in the lead-up to the production go-live and post-go-live phases, including future modifications and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing modules, ensuring alignment with business needs and operational goals.
  • Conduct end-to-end technical solutions, including testing, verification, and validation of results.
  • Utilize advanced Java programming skills, including J2EE, Oracle, Eclipse, PL/SQL, and Spring Framework to develop and maintain SAP Ariba integrations.
  • Extract, map, and transform data between MSU's enterprise systems, creating new or enhancing existing integration templates.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to ensure the stability and performance of SAP Ariba post-go-live, addressing any issues that arise and implementing necessary enhancements.
  • Collaborate with team members and act as an individual contributor to resolve technical challenges and optimize system performance.
  • Monitor and report progress to the Team Lead, keeping stakeholders informed of timelines and project milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Java Developer, with a focus on enterprise systems and SAP Ariba.
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Oracle, Eclipse, PL/SQL, and the Spring Framework (Spring Data, Spring Batch).
  • Experience with SAP Ariba, specifically in Buying and Invoicing modules, and integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of data extraction, mapping, and transformation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work within established timelines.
