The position focuses on enhancing managerial effectiveness through strategic forecasting of management needs, development programs, and succession planning. The role is pivotal in ensuring that the organization has a robust pipeline of management talent and that current managers are equipped with the necessary skills and resources to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasts management development needs by studying organization plans and planned restructuring; analyzing management transfers, terminations, dismissals, and planned retirements.
  • Develops management succession plans by plotting known management reassignments; evaluating performance results and capabilities of subordinates; preparing career development plans.
  • Attracts and retains management talent by recommending improvements in organization policies and programs.
  • Improves organization results by developing and planning learning experiences; counseling individual managers; evaluating and improving developmental experiences.
  • Provides managers with skills and resources by designing and conducting training programs; maintaining a library.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping management development information confidential.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
