About the position

The SAP Basis Administrator plays a critical role in delivering consistent high-performance SAP systems and applications to support business operations. This position is responsible for architecting SAP technical solutions, implementing and supporting SAP applications and infrastructure, and monitoring system performance and utilization. The SAP Basis Administrator collaborates with multiple business functional groups and is key in day-to-day systems operations across various business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure SAP systems, including SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP GRC, and Solution Manager based on business requirements and best practices.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and installations of SAP software components.
  • Conduct routine system administration tasks such as client copy, system copy, client export/import, and system refresh.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system resources to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Configure and manage the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) for transporting changes between SAP systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot transport-related issues.
  • Configure and manage interfaces and integration between SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot interface-related issues.
  • Analyze system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning measures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of SAP system configurations, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies (SOX, PCI, Corporate, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an SAP BASIS Administrator or in a similar role with 3+ years of experience in a medium to large size organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP technologies, architecture, and components.
  • Proven proficiency in SAP installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • SAP certifications are a plus.
