About the position

The SAP Business Intelligence Developer will support the implementation of the BI strategy using SAP's Business Warehouse (BW) tool. This role involves working on business requirements, data architecture, dimensional modeling, and ETL development to enhance the BI applications and ensure they meet business needs.

Responsibilities

• Work with team members in the design, development, and maintenance of the BW system.
• Develop database designs using standard dimensional modeling techniques, including star schema design and master data attributes.
• Participate in the design and development of complete data architecture and structures that support business requirements using SAP BW.
• Analyze and write business requirements to address reporting solutions, facilitating business analysis sessions and documenting deliverables.
• Assist in writing technical requirements documents, data flow diagrams, and source/target mapping for ETL routines.
• Write SAP extractors using ABAP or Informatica mappings.
• Execute performance tuning of BW queries, SQL, data loading, and BW web reports.
• Participate in the development of queries and reports using report designer or BEx.
• Monitor process chains and data loading.
• Schedule, track, and monitor project tasks and resources using ISGIS standard tools such as Jira.

Requirements

• MA/MS in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; BS/BA is minimum education requirement.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required, with preferred experience of 3+ years in full life cycle implementations in a technical role with hands-on BW & ABAP experience.
• Knowledge of data warehousing and core SAP modules (FI, CO, RM, HR, PS).
• Demonstrated experience with developing BW functional design specifications and efficient design of BW database objects (Infocubes, ODSs, multiproviders, Infosets).
• Experience with SAP BW on HANA specific optimizations.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member, with multi-tasking capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of BW data architecture and multidimensional data modeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of SAP BW 7.3 features including DTP's, Object Oriented ABAP, and Integrated planning.
• Experience with ETL tools, preferably Informatica and SAP BO Data Services.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA basic concepts and Virtual/Transient Providers using SAP HANA Calculation views.
• Knowledge of SAP SLT for real-time replication of data into SAP HANA.
• Strong understanding of BW integration with Business Objects and experience with SAP BO Analysis for Office.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI as an interface to SAP BW.
• Experience with Data Modeling application software (e.g., ERWIN, Oracle Designer, S-Designer, Visio/Professional).
