About the position

The SAP Center of Excellence Lead at Legend Biotech is a director-level position responsible for managing the delivery, architecture, and operational excellence of SAP S/4 HANA solutions across the organization. This role ensures alignment with global business strategies while overseeing application maintenance and support to maintain reliable and efficient operations. The lead will manage a diverse team, drive SAP initiatives across various domains, and ensure compliance and continuous improvement of SAP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, evolve, and execute the delivery of global SAP solutions, ensuring alignment with product lines in Manufacturing, Commercial, Quality, and Finance.
  • Define and enforce SAP S/4 HANA architectural standards and project objectives, maintaining alignment with global strategies.
  • Partner with Business Process Owners to create and manage enhancement backlogs for the SAP platform.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of SAP projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, robust testing, and quality processes to maintain SAP landscape integrity.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Communicate SAP solution strategies effectively, addressing business challenges and securing alignment on business implications.
  • Ensure AMS (Application Maintenance and Support) operations consistently meet SLAs, delivering reliable and high-performing applications.
  • Oversee AMS service providers, ensuring resource availability and alignment with business objectives.
  • Optimize AMS operations to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and overall value delivery.
  • Maintain 24x7 operational availability of SAP systems, ensuring business continuity and system reliability.
  • Support internal and external audit teams by providing timely, accurate responses from the SAP team.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, including GxP, SOX, and data privacy requirements.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of validation documentation to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing SAP team composed of internal and external resources.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with strategic partners and vendors, including J&J, SAP, and implementation partners.
  • Foster collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring SAP solutions align with business objectives.
  • Motivate, coach, and guide the team to achieve excellence in delivery, AMS operations, and architectural initiatives.
  • Develop and present business cases for proposed initiatives, securing stakeholder buy-in.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance SAP systems by leveraging industry trends, best practices, and innovative technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine SAP-related policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Relevant SAP certifications or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in SAP S4 HANA architecture, delivery, AMS operations, and compliance.
  • 12 or more years of SAP experience in delivery and operations.
  • Deep understanding of Cell therapy Processes and SAP functional/technical knowledge, with implementation experience.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and AMS service providers.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including GxP, SOX, and data privacy.
  • Strong track record of delivering results through effective team and peer leadership in matrix environments.
  • Experience as a manager, plan and manage daily activities of team; coaches/mentors/trains team; leads performance management activity (goal setting, performance appraisals, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability in leading high-performing teams in a matrix and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate, specifically on Clinical and scientific topics.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, & communication skills ensuring full alignment of cross functional teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicts and negotiations while providing impact and influence.
  • Highly collaborative & effective influencing skills and the ability to operate across multiple geographies.
