About the position

We are seeking a skilled SAP Data Engineer with expertise in HANA to join our team in San Jose, California. This position is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days of onsite work each week. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, particularly with SAP HANA, and will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data solutions that support our business objectives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement effective data models and ETL processes. Your role will also involve optimizing data flows and ensuring data quality and integrity across various systems. This is a long-term position with a duration of 12+ months, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant projects and enhance your skills in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data models in SAP HANA to support business analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded into the data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimize data flows and performance of data queries to enhance system efficiency.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing validation and cleansing processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data issues, providing timely resolutions to maintain data availability.
  • Document data architecture, processes, and workflows for future reference and compliance.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer, specifically with SAP HANA.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts and ETL processes.
  • Experience with SQL and data manipulation languages.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with other SAP tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud data solutions and architectures.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
