About the position

The SAP Procure to Pay (P2P) Consultant will play a critical role in the technical upgrade of financial and procurement systems for a major branch of the Department of Defense (DoD). This position focuses on optimizing procurement processes, enhancing vendor payments, and ensuring seamless integration across modules as the organization transitions from SAP ECC to S/4 HANA. The consultant will lead configuration efforts, perform end-to-end process analysis, and support business process re-engineering to align with federal standards.

Responsibilities

  • Leading configuration and customization of the SAP PTP module to align with the client's S/4 HANA transformation goals.
  • Performing end-to-end process analysis to optimize procurement workflows, from Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO), Goods Receipt (GR), and Service Entry Sheet (SES).
  • Ensuring robust integration of PR to PO to GR/SES with Vendor Pay (Accounts Payable) processes, streamlining vendor payments.
  • Developing and executing functional specifications for system enhancements, ensuring compliance with federal standards.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive fit-to-standard evaluations with minimal customization, aligning with client strategies.
  • Participating in testing, training, and knowledge transfer sessions to ensure smooth adoption of new processes by end users.
  • Supporting change management and data migration efforts, ensuring data integrity and system compatibility during the upgrade.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with the SAP PTP module with expertise in Vendor Pay AP processes and integration of procurement to accounts payable.
  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, including PR, PO, GR/SES, and vendor invoicing.
  • Proven experience in configuring PTP functionalities within public sector projects, preferably in federal or defense environments.
  • 9+ years of relevant SAP experience including 6 years of experience leading business systems modernization/sustainment and related projects.
  • Proven experience with S/4 HANA implementations within the public sector or A&D environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate technical field from an accredited institution. An additional (2) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Professional IT Certification - CISA (or similar) or Certification in one or more relevant SAP Modules.
  • Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Public Sector, or government regulated industry experience (i.e.: Aerospace & Defense) experience required.
  • Interim or Active Secret Clearance Required.
