The SAP S4 HANA Database Architect and Engineer is responsible for the overall management and optimization of the database systems, specifically focusing on S4 HANA, Oracle Database, and the ThoughtSpot platform. This role ensures the efficient and secure management of all database systems, enabling reliable data storage, retrieval, and processing to support the organization's business operations. The architect will design the database architecture, including data models, tables, and indexes, to meet business requirements with an optimized database design. In addition to designing the database, the architect will manage the implementation of all databases, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and integration with other systems. This involves collaborating with technical teams to ensure smooth data migration and application deployment. The role also includes optimizing the performance of the databases by analyzing and fine-tuning configurations, monitoring performance metrics, and identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure optimal system performance. Security is a critical aspect of this position, as the architect must ensure that the databases adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements. This includes implementing effective access controls, encryption, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive information. The architect will also troubleshoot database-related issues, perform regular maintenance tasks such as backup and recovery, and apply patches and upgrades to keep the database environment stable and up to date. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, data analysts, and infrastructure teams, is essential to address database-related requirements and resolve issues. The architect will maintain current documentation of the database architecture, configurations, and processes for future reference. Additionally, the role involves supporting and overseeing report or analysis creation to meet business requirements, leveraging the capabilities of the ThoughtSpot platform to generate insightful analyses that drive business decisions. The architect will also be responsible for effective visualization and dashboarding using ThoughtSpot's intuitive interface. Continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in S4 HANA is expected, along with presenting progress reports and offering solutions to address feedback or schedule risks.
