About the position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking Signal & Image Process Engineers and RF Payload Systems Engineers to join the Radar Processing and Analysis Department (RPAD) within the Electronics and Sensors Division (ESD). This role involves developing innovative techniques for space payload and ground system processing analysis, focusing on Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and related applications. The position requires a strong technical background and offers opportunities to contribute to high-impact projects that support national missions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and use innovative techniques and tools for space payload and ground system processing analysis.
  • Evaluate Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), Moving Target Indication (MTI), maritime surveillance, and electronic warfare applications.
  • Create and evolve SAR image formation processors to improve product quality.
  • Design SAR antenna, payload, and sensor capabilities for mission success.
  • Model target RF signatures for exploitation applications.
  • Characterize performance to support program acquisition, planning, and maturation.
  • Support a portfolio of high-impact projects, engaging with experts across multiple disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and 2 or more years of relevant experience for Member of Technical Staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and 5 or more years of relevant experience for Senior Member of Technical Staff.
  • Technically adept using MATLAB or Python to implement solutions to problems.
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation of radar sensor performance.
  • Desire to learn SAR signal and/or image processing.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI access clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geophysics, or related technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with signal and/or image processing for SAR, radar, or SIGINT.
  • Knowledge of space-based systems.
  • Current and active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with electronic warfare and/or electronic protection applications.
