About the position

The Medicaid SAS Developer / Programmer Analyst position at SunPlus Data Group involves working with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services to develop and implement data solutions for Medicaid programs. The role requires expertise in SAS Enterprise Guide and visual analytics, focusing on data conversion strategies, real-time analytics, and reporting solutions. The position is primarily onsite with some flexibility for remote work after initial establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying data sources and data elements to meet business requirements
  • Creating and supporting automated data extracts and interface processes
  • Creating extract files, reports, analytics dashboards
  • Modifying existing processes to meet business requirements
  • Designing, developing and testing solutions that meet complex business requirements
  • Working with business users to understand requirements
  • Working independently and collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders at all levels of the organization, external agencies, CMS, VITA and vendors
  • Working on multiple assignments concurrently and meet important target dates

Requirements

  • Experience with SAS Enterprise Guide, visual analytics for data analysis and reporting
  • Experience with data architecture, data integration, data visualization, reporting, and process automation
  • Experience with SAS (programming), R, PL/SQL
  • Experience with Oracle, DB2, MS SQL Server
  • Experience with ETL tools, Business Analytics tools
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop and test solutions for complex solutions that meet user and agency requirements
  • Development experience using Software Development Life Cycle methodologies
  • Experience communicating verbally and in writing with technical colleagues and business users
  • Experience providing accurate estimates of effort and duration to complete assignments
  • Experience creating documentation to include technical design, flow diagrams, test results and user documentation
  • Experience working with SAS scheduler
  • Experience creating CI/CD pipelines and software build automation in one or more platforms (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline)
  • Experience with GIT version control software and GIT workflows
