About the position

The SAS/ETL Developer role focuses on leveraging advanced SAS programming skills to design and implement ETL processes. The position requires expertise in data manipulation, relational databases, and performance optimization using SQL. Familiarity with Linux environments and SAS scheduling tools is essential, with a preference for candidates experienced in SAS Viya. The role also involves documenting processes and code, contributing to Agile methodologies, and understanding various data formats.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SAS programming for ETL processes, including base SAS, macros, and functions.
• Experience using SAS to manipulate and update relational databases.
• Strong skills in advanced SQL for high-performance data management (e.g., PROC SQL, FEDSQL).
• Familiarity with Linux-based SAS environments.
• Experience with SAS scheduling tools.
• Hands-on experience with SAS Viya is preferred.
• Knowledge of SAS Administration is a plus.
• Experience with Unix shell scripting to create SAS job flows.
• Understanding of ETL processes in at least one non-SAS tool (e.g., Talend, AWS Glue) is preferred.
• Willingness to document code and processes thoroughly.
• Familiarity with Agile/Kanban methodologies.
• Knowledge of data formats such as JSON, XML, multi-schema files, and Parquet.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices is a plus.
